Cheddar Bay Reality Football

With both teams ranked in the Top 10 for the first time since 1964, the Michigan-Michigan State rivalry could be one of the most important games of the season.  Cleveland Heights native Mel Tucker sure looks like he has the unbeaten Spartans headed in the right direction in his first real season.  Meanwhile, we all know the deal with Harbaugh: he's a  booger eater that always loses  to Ohio State and often loses to Michigan State, sometimes in the most hilarious fashion imaginable .  This one should be a fun way to start off a solid Saturday slate (noon EST on Fox).   College lines here .   NFL lines here .  Standings here .  

Slim pickings out there this week for the all-play, sort of like when College Gameday decides to go to North Dakota or an aircraft carrier.  We like to have a good dose of college plays early in the year, due to the later focus on NFL playoffs, but UCLA/Oregon or Clemson/Pitt just doesn't move the needle.  So lets all dig in on the improbable battle for first place in the AFC North.  Man, that is a depressing sentence for Browns fans to read.   College lines here .   NFL lines here .  Standings here .  

Last week was pretty solid across the board: most notably, CLTIL and Art Briles Exonerator were on opposite sides of Bengals-Packers and the push yielded them both an Admiral’s Feast. This week’s All-Play marks the second meeting of the consecutive #1 Oklahoma QBs, leading the undefeated Cardinals and the less-defeated-than-usual Browns. One thing we can be reasonably sure of is that this time around Kenyan Drake will not average 6.2 yards per carry and score four TDs.  Personally I did not even realize that Appalachian State were playing Louisiana-Lafayette last night, but they were and Agnes was on top of it. For future reference, if there is Tuesday action and we don’t have a thread up you can always do what Agnes did in this case and post a pick in the previous week’s thread (Scores and Odds is where we’re getting lines so just use theirs).    There have been a couple of screw-ups in the picks spreadsheet so far and I cannot guarantee the absence of future screw-ups, ...

For the first time since 1962, the Big 10 has a matchup of Top 5 teams that does not involve Ohio State or Michigan, which makes it easy to see why this is our all-play.  Add in a historically decent football program hosting their biggest home game since 1985 and it is must-see TV.  Just beware, presumably because FOX has some requirement to put big games on at weird/bad times, it's a 4pm kickoff.  However, great news is we will be enjoying Gus Johnson on the call .   College lines here .   NFL lines here .   Standings here .
