Cheddar Bay Week Seventeen: CFP Semis, Playoffs Start Jan 2

Here's this week's thread -- but if you posted in last week's already I will get your picks from there (I think this only applies to Nick). There will be a playoff thread with definitive rules and whatnot at the weekend. No changes to the plan from last week: eight playoff spots up for grabs, ten picks, at least five college, All Play both Ohio State +6.5 vs Georgia and TCU +7.5 vs Michigan, make sure to cash in your POTY if you haven't already.  Speaking of which, I believe I am correct in saying that since the introduction of the POTY it has been a rule that your POTY cannot be your essay skip. Consequently I have counted Gschonberg's pick of the Lions last week as an essay skip, *not* as a POTY.  Once more with feeling: the  college  lines, the  pro  lines, the  standings .

Cheddar Bay Week Sixteen: Eagles +5.5 at Cowboys

Even without Jalen Hurts it has been felt that Eagles-Cowboys is still the most compelling All Play for the week. The 5.5 number does reflect initial reaction to Gardner Minshew. Christmas Eve, 4:25 PM.  Some end of season updates: This week (now until December 26) is a normal week. The last week of the regular season will start on Tuesday December 27 and run through the January 1st NFL games. To celebrate bowl season and help the playoff push there will be another  double All Play of both CFP semis on New Year's Eve, and a total of EIGHT other picks , a minimum of THREE  of which must be college. So: ten picks total, minimum five college.  As already announced, the top 8 players will go into the playoffs, with ties handled by next-round sudden death.  The playoffs will begin promptly on January 2nd, so participants will need to be ready to pick the January 2nd bowl games (and the Bills/Bengals game). Playoff scoring and exactly what we're going to do to pass ...

Cheddar Bay Week Fifteen: Dolphins +7.5 at Bills

Apologies for not having this up in time for the Thursday game or, if you were thinking of picking the Seahawks, you're welcome. Back to the traditional one all play, six picks this week. There are six bowl games happening tomorrow, as detailed  here . Rest of the pro lines  here . Standings, as ever, are  here .

Cheddar Bay Week Fourteen: Double Double

We are doubling up again this week. Not a whole lot of options for a college All Play this week: it is Army +2.5 at Navy at 3 PM on Saturday.  But the true All Play, the people's All-Play, is Browns +6.5 at Bengals, 1 PM on Sunday.  Once again the double All-Play comes with an additional seventh pick, so happy hunting to all.  Here  are the pro lines and  here  are the standings.

Cheddar Bay Week Thirteen: COLLEGE DOUBLE ALL PLAY, EXTRA PICK, PLAYOFF ANNOUNCEMENT

There are so many announcements that I am resorting to bullet points .  We are celebrating an exciting weekend of conference championship games with not one but TWO All Plays this week: Utah +2.5 at USC at 8 PM on Friday, and Kansas State +2.5 at TCU at noon on Saturday.  In fairness to those among us who would not usually devote two picks to college, this will be accompanied by an extra SEVENTH pick to use as you see fit, so the maximum score for this week will be 9 points (or 12 if you hit on your POTY).   Because we have a more EXCLUSIVE (smaller) group this year, the traditional 20% rule for the playoff field doesn't make much sense. We've decided that this year the top 8 people will make the playoffs (ties handled as usual with sudden death). This gives basically everyone (sorry Gavin, we've all been there) a reasonable shot over the last few weeks.  An UNFORTUNATE side-effect of this heightened exclusivity is that there is less money to go around. To p...
